Outer Sunset & Ocean Beach

Fog, sand, baguettes and a game of pool at the edge of the city.

Welcome to the foggy, friendly western edge of San Francisco. This is my kind of day: good bread, a little pool, and the ocean as the backdrop. Follow the stops in order, or mix it up and make it your own.

Your itinerary Β· 5 stops

  1. Rustic loaves of bread on a dark countertop
    Coffee

    Day Moon

My favorite way to start a slow morning. Grab a baguette and a coffee at Day Moon, then take them to the stair steps nearby and enjoy every bite while the neighborhood wakes up around you.

  2. A wide sandy beach with gentle waves
    Outdoors

    Walk Ocean Beach

Work off those snacks with a stroll along Ocean Beach. It sits right at the edge of the city, with wide open sand and the Pacific stretching out ahead. Bring a layer, because it can get breezy!
